COVID-19 Resources for the PS1 Community

PS1 Pluralistic School continues to be fully open for the 2023-24 school year. It is important to emphasize that any on-campus procedures and protocols are subject to change, as we receive new updates and requirements from Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH).

Priorities for On-Campus Learning

  • Safety, health, and wellness of students, faculty, and staff are of paramount importance
  • Our plans will be consistent with the school’s mission. The recognition and communication that schools are communities of learning and not just for academic instruction are essential.
  • PS1 will supply the best continuous learning program possible
  • PS1 commits to a safe and responsible plan, following LACDPH requirements to minimize community spread

To minimize risk:

  • Wear face masks whenever strongly recommended indoors
  • Wash hands, sanitize
  • Classes will use outdoor spaces at various times throughout the school day
  • PS1 classrooms and indoor spaces are well-ventilated and utilize HEPA filtration and HVAC systems
  • Stay home if any symptoms are present
  • Immediately isolate or quarantine after positive test

As a reminder, it remains imperative that parents contact PS1 (covid@psone.org) immediately if your child:

  • Has tested positive for COVID-19
  • Has been tested for COVID-19 and is awaiting results

This is a critical part of keeping our community safe.
