PS1 teachers are mentors, guides, and collaborators. They combine deep expertise in child development with a genuine ability to know each child as an individual. Teaching in teams of two per classroom, their flexibility, creativity, and compassion create classrooms where students feel safe taking risks, exploring new ideas, and expressing themselves fully. Because faculty know students so well, they can challenge them to reach their full potential — and celebrate them for who they are.

Confident, Capable Learners

By sixth grade, PS1 students are articulate, self-assured, and intrinsically motivated. They leave with curiosity, capability, and compassion — fully prepared to thrive in secondary school and in life.
