A school tour is an essential step in getting to know PS1 and experiencing our learning community in action.

UPCOMING TOUR DATES: On-Campus Tours are on select Thursday mornings from 9:30 am-11:30 am:

• Families must submit an Inquiry Form before registering for a tour. Once you have inquired, you will receive access to upcoming tour dates.
   

• Both parents or guardians (when applicable) are required to attend a school tour prior to the Parent Interview.
   

• An application is not required before touring.
   

• Tours are for parents and guardians only and offer an in-depth look at our classrooms, philosophy, and daily life at PS1. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

PS1 uses Ravenna as our admissions portal.

• Submit the application with the $150 non-refundable application fee by December 12, 2025.
  Fee waivers are available for families applying for tuition assistance.

  We’re thrilled to welcome you into the PS1 admissions process and look forward to getting to know your family.

After submitting your application, the following steps help us build a meaningful and complete picture of your child and family.

• Parent Interview (September–February)
  The Admissions Office will email you with your interview appointment. Both parents or guardians (when applicable) are required to attend. This conversation is an opportunity to share your hopes for your child and learn more about how PS1 partners with families.
   

• Child Visit (November–February)
  You will receive an email with your child’s visit date. During the visit, your child will spend time in a classroom, engage with peers, and experience learning at PS1. This visit helps us get to know your child as a learner and community member.
   

• School Forms and Records
  Required evaluation forms (and transcripts for applicants to grades 1–5) must be completed by your child’s current school and submitted directly to PS1. All required forms are available through Ravenna.

• All components of the admissions process must be completed by early February of the enrollment year
   

• Admissions decisions are released in March.
   

• If enrollment is offered, families must submit a signed enrollment contract and a non-refundable tuition deposit equal to 20% of tuition and fees by the stated deadline to reserve a space.

Building a diverse and inclusive community is central to PS1’s mission. Tuition Assistance supports families from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

• Approximately 32% of PS1 families receive Tuition Assistance, with awards ranging from 7% to 95% of tuition for the 2025–2026 school year.
   

• Families interested in Tuition Assistance should indicate this on the admissions application to receive additional information and materials.
