Discover PS1

Where childhood is honored, individuality is celebrated, and community is built.

A Warm Invitation

At PS1 Pluralistic School, admissions is more than an application process. It is the beginning of a relationship. We are excited to get to know your family and to share the ways our school nurtures joy, individuality, and belonging. From the moment you connect with us, you will find that PS1 is a place where every child is seen, valued, and encouraged to grow into their full self.

Who Thrives at PS1

Our students are curious explorers, creative thinkers, and compassionate community members. Families who join PS1 believe that education should spark a love of learning, encourage individuality, and build empathy. Here, children discover their voices, develop confidence, and learn what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Our Approach to Admissions

Just as our classrooms are personalized and child centered, our admissions process is relational and welcoming. We look beyond test scores and transcripts to understand each child’s story, interests, and potential. We invite families who share our belief in pluralism, where many voices, perspectives, and experiences create a stronger and more connected community.

The Journey Ahead

The PS1 journey is a seven year arc that celebrates childhood while preparing students for life beyond elementary school. Along the way, children are supported by expert teachers, enriched by Specialist programs, and empowered by opportunities to lead and collaborate. Our graduates leave with confidence, resilience, and the skills to thrive in middle school and beyond.

“From the moment we stepped on campus, we knew our child would be truly seen here. PS1 feels like a second home.” – J.G., Current Parent

I’ve got to tell you, I was so impressed coming away from the tour that I told a few people I work with about the way PS1 educates the next generation of thinkers and doers. I was so taken from the moment I stepped foot on your campus - by the girl who greeted me as I entered to register, by the parent who welcomed me, by the faculty, staff and each of the teachers as we continued on the tour. And mostly by the kids in each class who spoke with such poise and confidence about their lessons.

–Prospective Parent

You have given our daughter the gift of her childhood, all the while setting her up for success at the next step.  We are so grateful for this experience.

–K.S., PS1 Parent
