One From the Heart

The purpose of our committee is to help organize support when a member of our community finds themselves facing an unexpected crisis. Such a time might include serious illness, the death of a family member, job loss, etc. Support may be in the form of providing meals, organizing carpools or childcare or offering other forms of needed help. Many of you have contributed to One From the Heart over the years and we want to thank you for your continued generosity.

At the start of each school year, we ask the entire parent-body if they would like to help support our efforts. There are two ways you can contribute to One From the Heart. One way is by donating to the fund (to support a family in need), and the second way is by placing your name on the volunteer list. As a volunteer, you may be contacted during the course of the year, if help is needed.

At any moment any of our lives can change and place us in the position of needing support from our community. If you and your family should find yourselves in this situation, please let one of us know. Our committee works quietly “behind the scenes” to respect a family’s confidentiality. If you feel more comfortable contacting a staff member, please speak to our Director of Finance & Operations in the Administration office.

If you are interested in helping in any capacity, please fill out the form below and return it to the front office. As mentioned above, we will contact you as help is needed and if you are able and available, you can sign up then. We do not expect all volunteers to be available at all times, but rather we try to have a pool of helpers available to draw from. If you have any questions, please contact either one of us. Thank you, in advance, for your contribution to our community.

One From the Heart Co-Chairs,

Kim DeGeorge and Shayna Gaffen
