Parents-In-Residence
Now, it’s your turn! Share your passion. Tell us about your career. Introduce us to your hobby.
Parent-in-Residence (PIR) is PS1’s extracurricular program that provides a venue to the adult members in our community to lead children and grown-ups in a workshop of their own design. Scheduled for 60-90 minutes on a weekday after school, parents, grandparents and alumnae have volunteered as host of a one-time session spotlighting their interests and modeling stewardship.
Past PIR workshops have featured cartooning, life on a cacao plantation, marathon running, scrapbooking, a secret family recipe, seasonal crafts, and herbal fragrances.
We’d like to hear from you about what you might share with a mixed-age audience. We’ll coordinate scheduling, room assignment, publicity, and provisions. CLICK HERE for details or to brainstorm ideas.
Also, watch for news of upcoming PIR workshops and plan to be in the audience with your child.
